I am learning to use capital letters and full stops

I am learning to use capital letters correctly:

I use a capital letter at the beginning of a sentence.

I use a capital letter for the word ‘I.’

I use a capital letter for names of things.

I am learning to use full stops correctly:

I use a full stop at the end of a sentence.

When I grow up I want to be the police because I can put stealers in jail.

My Reflection 

I am learning to see where the full stops and capital letters go.
It can be tricky to spell jail.
I am so proud of my writing 
The next step for me might be to get some of these words right. 
The teacher can help me when i get things wrong.

Welcome to my Learning Journey for 2018. 

I am in Year 2 in Room 7 and my teacher is Mrs Beach.

Skip counting

I am learning to skip count in 5s.  Next I will be try skip counting on from a number.

" I can skip count in 5's so it's easier to get to 100" said Manawa

Reading Eggs

I am learning to make the first and last sounds so I can work out the word for myself.  Reading Eggs helps to reinforce my learning.

"I can read the sounds on the quiz so that I can learn how to spell the word" said Manawa.

Acrostic poem

I am learning how to write an acrostic poem.  I know that I start each sentence with a letter of the subject.  I wrote about myself. 

" I sound out my words and I really like to sound out trouble words. I might make a mistake, but it is okay to make a mistake."  Manawa

Bird pillow

For our Art Exhibition this year we learnt how to sketch a bird.  The final drawing was transferred onto calico and dye was added.  The bird was glued onto a pillow that Mrs Scott and Mrs Worsfold had sewn.  Don't they look great!

I am learning to sound out 3 letter words.

I am learning to say the first, middle and last sound in a word and then blend the sounds together to write the word.  This can help me in my reading and my writing.
